The flag of Nunavut has an inuksuk symbol. On the land, they are as tall as a man and are used as hunting and navigational aids, coordination points and message centres. In the culture, they communicate that Inuit can survive on the arctic land.
Why it is interesting: The inuksuk is an important symbol of Canada’s Arctic culture. It was the symbol of the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, BC.
